The survey for Michigan Enjoyer nudges our mean margin to D+3.6, a small step in the same direction as the other recent Michigan polls.

A Cygnal/Beacon Research survey of 600 likely voters, fielded September 18-21 and sponsored by Michigan Enjoyer, puts Democrat Abdul El-Sayed at 45 percent and Republican Mike Rogers at 40 percent in the open Michigan Senate race. The seat is held by Democrat Gary Peters. With a single sample of 600, a five-point gap is not large enough to call the race settled. It is close.
Our model now gives El-Sayed a 74 in 100 chance of winning, up from 73 percent in the run an hour earlier. Our mean margin moved from D+3.4 to D+3.6. The range of outcomes our model considers plausible, from the 5th to the 95th percentile, now runs from R+5.7 to D+12.8, against R+5.9 to D+12.6 before.
The change is small. The poll landed close to where our model already had the race, so it confirmed the existing picture more than it altered it. It adds one more survey showing El-Sayed ahead in the mid-single digits, and our estimate has risen modestly as those surveys have accumulated.
Michigan matters to the national picture. Our model gives Democrats a 59 percent chance of winning Senate control and Republicans a 40 percent chance, with Democrats averaging 51.0 seats across our simulations. Democrats need 51 seats for control and Republicans need 50, because the vice president is a Republican and a 50-50 tie goes to the Republicans. Our generic ballot average stands at D+8.6 across 29 polls from the past 45 days.
